#235: Parachute

This was also from driving around with Football on Monday. I've decided that my biggest pet peeve is when people drive without their lights on in the fog/rain/darkness. Also people that completely disregard traffic laws. Why are there so many of these people in Portland?
Track below! Ingrid Michaelson is so awesome. I haven't heard a single thing from her that wasn't intoxicating.

#234: City With No Children

BS sent me a mix cd that miraculously arrived on the worst day ever. What a magical boyfriend I have! Track below.

#232: Around the Block

Football took me for a drive so that I could get out of the house (and leave my security blanket behind - a difficult task for me when I'm sick. My couch blanket is a wonderful fleece blanket Paige made for me and when I am even a little sick I just live inside it) and then I felt sick again and got back in bed. Wow. Was there ever a story here? Yes. We listened to this band in the car. That's all.

In case you are in Google Reader, there's a track here.... Alex.

#231: Sick of You

As previously mentioned, this is a single from Cake's new album. Another day of fever fun! This video is crazy.

#230: My Body

If the first 30 seconds of this song don't convince you to keep listening, I can't help you. Sometimes I wonder if I'm wildly unoriginal because I only find new music on the radio, and the fact that it's on the radio means plenty of people are already into it. Then I kick myself for trying to be a hipster. But ALSO, no one I know listens to the radio - so there's that. Anyway, this is a 94.7 staple right now. I heard it during the precious few hours I was out of the house before being confined to bed with a super fun fever.
Sorry, my file uploader isn't working, so you're stuck with a video for the time being.

#229: Stay Too Long

Heard this on 94.7 this morning. Also, "Sick of You," a super excellent song from Cake's new album that is suddenly available for download on iTunes?!? Anyway, you should check out both.

Every song should have a bunch of girl back up singers. Just throwing that out there. This song is a surprising mix of energetic rock (power chords!!) and - wait for it - rap? It comes out as soul-inspired hip hop, and it is crazy great.
Sorry for my seemingly random switching between media players - I really prefer the other one but it won't play anything but mp3s and I have quite a few m4as and AACs and whatever else.
